EVP, Managing Director, Specialty Deposits Group
Aaron Houpis is Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Banc of California’s Specialty Deposits Group. He is responsible for developing and executing sales initiatives for specialty deposit groups, commercial banking and business banking clients. Mr. Houpis also oversees and directs a nationwide team of Relationship Managers in growing deposit production and generating new business relationships, referrals and treasury management sales. He is based in the company’s Beverly Hills, California, office.
Mr. Houpis is one of the leading Specialty Banking executives in the country. He joined Banc of California in 2019 as a Market Executive in the Specialty Banking Group and was promoted to his current role in 2024. Prior to joining Banc of California, he spent 10 years with Comerica Bank in a variety of leadership roles across retail banking and business banking. He started his banking career at Wells Fargo, where he became a Branch Manager.
Mr. Houpis is active in the community and supports several nonprofits in the Los Angeles area. He is on the board of directors for the Los Angeles Headquarters Association, which promotes business growth by engaging and collaborating with the region’s diverse leaders.
Mr. Houpis graduated from California State University, Chico, with a bachelor’s degree in management information systems. He is also studying at the Pacific Coast Banking School, which operates in partnership with the Foster Graduate School of Business at the University of Washington.
