Jared Wolff

President and Chief Executive Officer

Jared M. Wolff is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Banc of California, Inc., and a director of the Company since March 2019. Mr. Wolff currently serves on the Risk, Credit and ALM Committees of the Board. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Banc of California, N.A.

Mr. Wolff is a veteran banking executive with deep expertise in finance, law and risk management. Mr. Wolff joined Banc of California from City National Bank, a Los Angeles-based regional bank and wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, where he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. At City National, he was a member of the Executive Committee and oversaw the Legal and Corporate Administrative Group, among other areas.

Immediately prior to City National, Mr. Wolff was co-managing partner of Quarter Group, LLC, a specialty real estate firm focused on the acquisition and development of urban properties in various U.S. markets.

From 2002 to 2014, Mr. Wolff was a senior executive and member of the Board of Directors of Pacific Western Bank, a leading California-based commercial bank. Pacific Western is a wholly owned subsidiary of PacWest Bancorp (NASDAQ: PACW). At Pacific Western, he served as President of the Bank and as Executive VP and General Counsel of PacWest Bancorp and as a member of its Executive Committee. As President of the commercial bank subsidiary, Mr. Wolff was responsible for overseeing the regional commercial banking teams for the community bank throughout California and establishing initiatives for the Bank as a whole. He was also a member of the Bank’s Executive Asset and Liability Management Committee as well as the Bank’s Credit Committee.

As General Counsel of the public holding company, a role he also held until April 2014, Mr. Wolff had primary responsibility for corporate governance, corporate regulatory compliance and execution of M&A activity, including PacWest’s $2.3 billion acquisition of CapitalSource (NYSE:CSE). PacWest completed over 20 acquisitions from 2000 through 2014. During his tenure, he also had oversight of internal audit, deposit gathering, regional lending, insurance procurement, and marketing, among other areas.

Mr. Wolff joined PacWest from the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP, where he spent time in both the New York and Los Angeles offices.

Involved in numerous nonprofit organizations, he currently serves or has served on the board of directors of the following organizations: the Greater Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce; JVS, a not-for-profit social services organization that provides job training, career counseling and job placement assistance throughout Los Angeles County; the Cheviot Hills Pony Baseball Association; and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization.

Mr. Wolff received his B.A. from Duke University, his M.A. in French Language and Literature from Middlebury College, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Mr. Wolff is admitted to practice law in both California and New York.

Debbie Dahl-Amundson

Executive Vice President, Chief Internal Audit Officer

Debbie Amundson is the Executive Vice President, Chief Internal Audit Officer of Banc of California. Ms. Amundson leads the Internal Audit Group, SOX Compliance Program and Independent Credit Review Group, which are responsible primarily for Banc of California’s independent internal assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization’s governance, risk management, internal controls, asset quality and portfolio management, as well as the quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.

Before joining Banc of California, Debbie was SVP and Assistant General Auditor for PNC Financial Services Inc.’s Internal Audit Department, as well as SVP and Director of Risk Management’s Credit Risk Review group. She was the Loan Review Manager and Vice President at BMO/Harris, formerly Marshall & Ilsley (M&I) Bank, served as Internal Audit Director & 1st Vice President at JP Morgan Chase, formerly Washington Mutual Bank, and was the Senior Manager and Vice President of Internal Audit at Wells Fargo Bank.

Ms. Amundson started her banking career with National Bank of Alaska as a management trainee, handling commercial and retail loan portfolios, commercial and retail branch sales and service, and the internal audit’s loan review functions.

She received her bachelor of science degree in finance and business administration with minors in economics and mass communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington and completed the RMA/Wharton Advanced Risk Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She has obtained Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Internal Quality Assurance Assessment/Validation certifications. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Risk Management Association (RMA). She has been a panel speaker at the RMA Annual Risk Management Conference and guest speaker at the IIA.

Community and vocational service are areas of special interest to Ms. Amundson, and she spends a number of volunteer hours each year participating in projects such as Habitat for Humanity, Rotary International Community & Vocational Service projects, Junior Achievement activities, and United Way Women’s Leadership. She and her husband, Steve, are avid international travelers and enjoy time with their family and friends.

Ido Dotan

Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Ido Dotan is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Banc of California. Mr. Dotan brings extensive experience in corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and structured finance, along with management of in-house legal departments supporting multiple business lines and advising on regulatory, transactional and litigation matters.

Most recently, Mr. Dotan served as Executive Vice President, Assistant General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Carrington Mortgage Holdings, LLC, a holding company whose primary businesses include mortgage servicing and origination, real estate logistics and real estate services. At Carrington, Mr. Dotan oversaw all functions of the legal department, including transactional, regulatory compliance, licensing, litigation and corporate governance matters, among other areas.

Prior to Carrington, Mr. Dotan served as Chief Legal Officer of Arch Bay Capital, LLC, an asset management firm, where he was responsible for portfolio resolution, litigation and compliance management. Mr. Dotan also served as Associate General Counsel and then Chief Legal Officer of Thompson National Properties, LLC, a commercial real estate firm and sponsor of a public real estate investment trust, where he was responsible for managing and advising on all Securities and Exchange Commission compliance matters, securities offerings and real estate acquisitions.

Prior to joining the corporate sector, Mr. Dotan was an associate with the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP where he represented public and private companies and financial institutions in connection with mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, structured finance transactions and corporate governance matters.

Mr. Dotan received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business and his juris doctorate from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. Mr. Dotan is admitted to practice law in California.

Robert Dyck

Executive Vice President, Credit Administration

Robert Dyck is the Executive Vice President, Credit Administration of Banc of California and is responsible for overseeing all portfolio review/maintenance, approval of credits, ongoing portfolio analysis, and credit oversight for the Bank. Mr. Dyck is a highly skilled credit executive with over 35 years of banking experience in the California market.

Prior to joining Banc of California, Mr. Dyck spent four years providing consulting services to community banks in the areas of credit training, credit policy, credit culture and portfolio management.

Previously, Mr. Dyck spent 14 years with PacWest Bancorp most recently serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer for the Community Banking Division. During his tenure with PacWest, Mr. Dyck oversaw credit diligence for 14 bank acquisitions.

In addition, Mr. Dyck has served as senior credit executive for several community and regional banks where he managed credit training programs and directed loan review departments.

Robert received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance and MS in Finance from California State University, Northridge.

Kris Gagnon

Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer

Kris Gagnon is the Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer of Banc of California. Mr. Gagnon leads Banc of California’s credit risk organization, including responsibility for underwriting, credit policy, credit administration and special assets.

Kris has extensive banking experience including several years of commercial banking centered in key credit roles for numerous institutions. He has extensive knowledge of the Southern California market as well as diversified business sectors and verticals. Mr. Gagnon’s expertise is centered on building and refining commercial credit policies, systems and administration.

Most recently, Mr. Gagnon served as Chief Credit Officer at CIT Bank and brings considerable expertise as a top tier credit executive in commercial banking. He also held various senior leadership roles at Bank of America for 30 years, including serving as Enterprise Credit Risk Executive, Chief Risk Officer of the Global Corporate and Commercial Bank and as Chief Credit Officer for the Commercial Banking, ABL, Leasing and Global Treasury Services divisions. He holds a B.A. from California State University, Fullerton.

Jim Hazboun

Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

Jim Hazboun is the Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer of Banc of California. Mr. Hazboun leads Banc of California’s Human Resources and Marketing groups, which includes recruiting, training, talent development, and compensation functions, as well as corporate and business unit marketing, branding, sponsorships, and partnerships.

Most recently, Mr. Hazboun served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at Hyundai Capital America. As CHRO and CAO at Hyundai Capital America (HCA), Jim was the head of the corporate services division, which included human resources, corporate culture, information technology, project management office, business innovation, procurement, and administration services.

Prior to HCA, Jim has served in several key roles at organizations such as RGP Consulting, IndyMac Bank, Jet Propulsion Laboratory / NASA, and Electronic Data Systems.

Mr. Hazboun holds a B.A. in liberal arts from the University of the Pacific. Mr. Hazboun serves on the Governing Board for the Los Angeles CHRO Summit. He has been awarded the CHRO Leader of Distinction Award by HRO Today magazine for 2017 and 2018.

Hamid Hussain

President, Real Estate and Commercial Banking

Hamid Hussain is the President, Real Estate and Commercial Banking of Banc of California. Mr. Hussain oversees the Real Estate, Warehouse Lending and Middle Market banking groups. He is a seasoned executive leader who brings over 25 years of diverse experience in financial services, capital markets and corporate finance.

Prior to joining Banc of California, Mr. Hussain served as Executive Vice President, Real Estate Market Executive in the Commercial Banking group for Wells Fargo, where he worked for 10 years. He led a national team of senior banking professionals, set sales and marketing strategy, and was responsible for risk oversight.

Mr. Hussain is very active in the communities he serves and has held several board positions including past affiliations with U.S.S. Potomac Association, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and the American Heart Association.

Mr. Hussain received his MBA in Finance from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and received his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Toronto.

Christine Martin

Executive Vice President, Treasury Management, Operations and Systems

Christine Martin serves as the Executive Vice President, Treasury Management, Operations and Systems of Banc of California, primarily responsible for the oversight of Product, Treasury Management and Deposit focused operations.

Ms. Martin has over 20 years of Banking and Treasury Management experience. Prior to leading the Treasury Management and Deposit Operations functions, she was SVP, Head of Product and Business Management for the Bank where she focused on strategic growth initiatives and high-level risk management objectives.

Prior to joining Banc of California, Ms. Martin held several executive positions at MUFG Union Bank including Managing Director and Product Line Head and Product Management Chief Operating Officer. At Union Bank, Ms. Martin was responsible for the development of global liquidity strategy, revenue and new product development. She successfully drove deposit growth strategies and initiatives.

Prior to Union, Ms. Martin worked for Washington Mutual where she held several roles including National Pricing Manager and Senior Product Manager.

Ms. Martin received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and her Master’s degree from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Jay Sanders

President, Private and Specialty Banking

Jay Sanders is the President, Private and Specialty Banking of Banc of California and is a member of Banc of California’s management team. Mr. Sanders leads a diverse group of professionals that provide customized banking solutions for business owners, professionals, nonprofits and entrepreneurs that are focused on entertainment, business management, real estate, sports, fine art, film finance, legal and healthcare. He was recently honored by Variety magazine as a 2018 Entertainment Dealmaker of the Year at their annual event highlighting leaders behind the entertainment industry.

Mr. Sanders has more than 25 years of leadership experience in financial services. Most recently, he served as the Executive Vice President and Head of Private Banking, Trust and Fiduciary Services at CIT Bank, where he was responsible for the Private Bank, Wealth Management and Fiduciary platform. Previously, he spent 14 years as a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, where he had both national and international responsibilities for providing banking solutions for Merrill Lynch’s ultra-high-net-worth clients.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Sanders served as a corporate and real estate attorney at Loeb & Loeb LLP in Los Angeles. Upon graduating from law school, he worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Barry Russell, a prominent federal judge.

Mr. Sanders’ family came to Los Angeles over 100 years ago and he is very active in giving back to the community.  He currently serves as a board member for the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation,  Los Angeles Sports Council, Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games and the Builders of Jewish Education and was previously a board member for two Jewish day schools in Los Angeles. He is married with two sons and resides in Los Angeles.

Mike Smith

Interim Chief Financial Officer

Mike Smith is Interim Chief Financial Officer of Banc of California. In addition to serving as the Interim Chief Financial Officer, Mike will continue with his current duties as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Director of Treasury. He has over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance-related activities in large and midsize financial institutions, as well as extensive experience in public and regulated institutions. He is responsible for providing hands-on leadership for Accounting and Treasury operations.

Prior to his tenure at Banc of California, he was Chief Accounting Officer for loanDepot, the second-largest nonbank mortgage lender in the nation, CapitalSource Inc. (NYSE: CSE), a Fortune 500 public bank, and for Fremont Investment & Loan. In the past, Mike practiced public accounting for Deloitte and Grant Thornton as an Audit Senior Manager. During his public accounting days, Mike was a firm quality control reviewer.

Mike received his Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University concurrently with his bachelor’s degree in 1992. He also has a minor in Japanese. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of CPAs and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants.

John Sotoodeh

President, Community and Business Banking

John Sotoodeh is the President, Community and Business Banking of Banc of California. Mr. Sotoodeh is an inspirational, strategic leader with over 25 years of experience leading complex businesses in the financial services industry. As an executive who has led retail and business banking operations across 15 states and over 16,000 team members, he has a proven track record of cultivating a talented and diverse team. He has extensive expertise in spearheading change in an ever-evolving environment, including leading multiple innovative strategies while prioritizing a strong and clear culture.

Prior to joining Banc of California, Mr. Sotoodeh held several key executive positions at Wells Fargo Bank, where he enjoyed an almost 30 year tenure. Most recently, Mr. Sotoodeh held the position of EVP and Regional Banking Executive for the Southwest Region. In this strategic leadership role he managed all aspects of the Consumer and Small Business Banking divisions and played a significant role developing and implementing key business strategies for the company. He also served as the chair of the Community Banking reputation committee.

Mr. Sotoodeh cares deeply about social causes focused on education, homelessness and ending hunger. He has served on numerous boards including United Way Los Angeles, Bankwork$, Greater Houston Partnership, Texas Business Leaders Council, KCET Television and San Diego Food Bank.

Mr. Sotoodeh is an active member of Young President’s Organization Los Angeles. He has also participated in an Executive Program at Harvard Business School and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.

Mr. Sotoodeh earned his BS in Finance at San Jose State University.

Lynn Sullivan

Executive Vice President, Chief Risk and BSA Officer

Lynn Sullivan is the Executive Vice President, Chief Risk and BSA Officer of Banc of California. Ms. Sullivan manages the Bank’s BSA, AML, and overarching Risk program. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, which includes program oversight and direction for management of risks across the organization.

Most recently, Ms. Sullivan served as the Global Head of Anti-Money Laundering Policies, Controls and Governance/Administration at Citigroup Inc., a multinational investment bank and financial services corporation, where she worked from October 2013 to August 2017.  In her capacity as Global AML Policy and Controls Head, Ms. Sullivan oversaw global anti-money laundering program strategy, policy, training and control, anti-money laundering compliance testing and enterprise-wide anti-money laundering communications.

Ms. Sullivan has over 20 years’ experience in regulatory compliance and risk in the financial services industry, including serving as the Chief Compliance Officer at Rabobank, N.A. from 2012 to 2013, and the Chief Compliance Officer at Union Bank, N.A., where she began as Vice President and was promoted to SVP BSA Officer in 2006 and EVP and CCO in 2009.

Ms. Sullivan has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
